Radiation Therapy (RT)
The principle of Radiation Therapy (RT) is to use high-energy photon beams to destroy the DNA in cancer cells, preventing them from proliferating, thereby killing the cancer cells and shrinking the tumors.
What We Offer
Radiation Therapy (RT) is one of the most important cancer treatment methods. Its principle is to use high-energy photon beams to destroy the DNA in cancer cells, preventing them from proliferating, thereby killing the cancer cells and shrinking the tumors.
When conventional radiation therapy is used, our oncologist plans the irradiation range according to the irregular three-dimensional shape of the tumour. Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) is a new treatment plan that delivers a higher dose per session, requires fewer treatments, and offers high-precision radiation therapy.
Chemotherapy employs drugs that kill cancer cells to cure the disease, slow down their growth, and reduce the discomfort caused by tumours. As chemotherapy often works by attacking rapidly dividing cells, healthy cells can also be affected. However, our professional team can suggest strategies to minimise and manage the side effects.
PET-CT scanning allows veterinary oncologists to understand changes in the metabolism of cancer cells and determine whether the cancer has spread to other areas of the body, which can help us assess the development stage of the disease. Scan results can help us to: (1) diagnose the cancer, (2) determine the size of the cancer, and (3) evaluate whether it has spread…
Hyperthyroidism is caused by an increase in the production of thyroid hormones (known as T3 and T4) from an enlarged thyroid gland in a cat’s neck. Thyroid hormones play an important role in regulating many of the cat’s bodily processes, including metabolism and blood pressure…
Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive diagnostic procedure that provides your veterinarian with a two-dimensional ‘picture’ of your pet’s organs. During the procedure, our expert typically uses sound waves from a hand-held probe to create an image on a monitor.
