Case Spotlight: cholangiohepatitis and a partial bile duct obstruction

Case Spotlight: Meet Snoopy!

🐾✨ Case Spotlight: Meet Snoopy! ✨🐾We’re excited to share Snoopy’s remarkable journey with you!

Snoopy, a charming seven-year-old poodle, was taken to Harvest Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital by his owner due to displaying signs of icterus, lethargy, vomiting, and anorexia.

Our emergency vet quickly diagnosed him with cholangiohepatitis and a partial bile duct obstruction—both serious conditions requiring immediate attention.

To address the bile duct obstruction, our esteemed Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, Dr. Stephen Martin, performed a cholecystectomy, a delicate procedure to remove Snoopy’s gallbladder.

Cholecystectomy is a procedure performed on cats and dogs to treat conditions like gallbladder disease or bile duct obstruction, helping to improve their health and prevent complications.

Dr. Martin is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons, bringing extensive expertise and advanced surgical techniques to our team. His precision and skill in handling complex cases ensure that animals like Snoopy receive the highest standard of care.

Following the surgery, Snoopy was closely monitored by our devoted emergency and critical care team, who provided round-the-clock support and treatment. Their commitment to his recovery played a crucial role in his healing process. With the combined efforts of our skilled team and Snoopy’s fighting spirit, he has made a full recovery and is back to his playful self! 🎉🐶🩺❤️
