Certified medical physicists are healthcare professionals who apply medical physics principles to medicine. They form an essential part of our comprehensive medical team in radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, which include:

  • Creating, implementing and monitoring the procedures which allow the best treatment using radiation, taking into account the protection and safety of patients and others involved in the treatment process.

  • Ensuring the safe operation and quality of systems used for imaging (e.g. CT, PET-CT & MRI scanner) and treatment (e.g. Linear Accelerator, Radioisotope) of patients.

  • Working closely with IT and engineering staff to ensure that all the radiotherapy equipment and computers are working correctly and linked together correctly.

  • Offering advice to radiation oncologists and radiation therapists so as to ensure the best use of medical radiation for treatment and protection.

  • Ensuring that all equipment meets international and national requirements so that the radiation dose prescribed by a radiation oncologist and planned by a dosimetrist can be delivered to the patient correctly.

Radiation therapists
are allied health professionals working in the field of clinical oncology. They work closely with clinical oncologists, medical physicists, nurses and other members of the healthcare team in providing cancer animals with radiotherapy and care. In the process of radiotherapy, radiation therapists are responsible for performing simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery.

They take care of animals, and follow safety procedures to protect patients and themselves from overexposure. Our radiation therapists are patient, empathetic and helpful. If you have any questions about your pet’s radiation therapy or care, they would be most happy to talk with you.

Veterinary Nurses

A veterinary nurse cares for and educates patients and their owners. The role of a veterinary nurse is to examine and administer treatment to animals and manage symptoms and diseases. As pets and owners may experience different pressures and concerns during treatment, our veterinary nurses are ready to provide support and guidance throughout a animal’s treatment process. They connect pets and owners with healthcare services and communicate with doctors and other healthcare professionals on behalf of animals. One of the missions of a veterinary nurse is to ensure that pets receive treatment in a relaxed and happy mood.

Administrative and Supporting staff

Administrative and supporting staff coordinate and facilitate the provision of patient care. The former schedule appointments, answer calls, greet patients, maintain medical records, process medical bills, fill out insurance forms, arrange laboratory or other diagnostic services, and handle financial records, while the latter is responsible for supporting the provision of patient services and catering.
